CAS#: 2149-70-4

Description: Nitroarginine, or Nω-nitro-L-arginine, is a nitro derivative of the amino acid arginine. It is an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase and hence a vaso-constrictor and coronary constrictor. As such, it finds widespread use as a biochemical tool in the study of nitric oxide and its biological effects. Nitroarginine has been used in research studying coronary constriction, in the presence of midazolam vasodilatation was unaffected by nitroarginine. Nitroarginine is currently in clinical trials for treating patients with advanced solid tumors.

Preparing Stock Solutions

The following data is based on the product molecular weight 219.19852 Batch specific molecular weights may vary from batch to batch due to the degree of hydration, which will affect the solvent volumes required to prepare stock solutions.

Select a batch to recalculate based on the batch molecular weight:
Concentration / Solvent Volume / Mass 1 mg 5 mg 10 mg
1 mM 1.15 mL 5.76 mL 11.51 mL
5 mM 0.23 mL 1.15 mL 2.3 mL
10 mM 0.12 mL 0.58 mL 1.15 mL
50 mM 0.02 mL 0.12 mL 0.23 mL
