Description: PRT-543 is a selective oral PRMT5 inhibitor with a phase 1 clinical trial currently ongoing, testing its effectiveness as a treatment for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. PRT-543 functions by selectively binding to the PRMT5 substrate recognition site, inhibiting methyltransferase, ultimately increasing the expression of anti-proliferative genes or decreasing expression of proliferative genes, which in turn can be used to prevent proliferation of cancer cells.
