Description: Osteoprotegerin is a soluble secreted member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, inhibiting osteoclastogenesis by interrupting the signaling between stromal cells and osteoclastic progenitor cells, leading to excess accumulation of bone and cartilage.
