Description: 7,8-Dihydroneopterin is a pteridine with antioxidant activities. It scavenges 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals and inhibits copper ion-induced oxidation of LDL. It also decreases thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) produced by THP-1 cells cultured with LDL, and it inhibits necrosis induced by oxidized LDL (oxLDL).
