Description: Narcissoside is a flavonoid glycoside that has been found in the plant Z. simplex and has antioxidative and antitumor activities. It scavenges 27.74, 33.41, and 63% of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals and inhibits activation of Epstein-Barr virus early antigen (EBV-EA) induced by phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (TPA) in Raji cells. Narcissoside has also been shown to inhibit TPA-induced papilloma formation.
