Description of Edotecarin:
Edotecarin is a
synthetic indolocarbazole with antineoplastic activity. Edotecarin
inhibits the enzyme topoisomerase I through stabilization of the
DNA-enzyme complex and enhanced single-strand DNA cleavage, resulting in
inhibition of DNA replication and decreased tumor cell proliferation.
